Title on Entity page in AspDotNetStoreFront

In this article, I am going to show you how to display entity (category,manufacture) name as a title in AspDotNetStorefront entity page.

To get entity title, need to edit following xml.config file code:

<xsl:template match="/">
          <xsl:value-of select="<a title="aspdnsf" href="">aspdnsf</a>:EntityPageHeaderDescription($EntityName, $EntityID)" disable-output-escaping="yes" />
        <xsl:value-of select="aspdnsf:EntityPageFilterOptions($EntityName, $EntityID, /root/Runtime/SecID, /root/Runtime/CatID, /root/Runtime/ManID, /root/Runtime/ProductTypeFilterID)" disable-output-escaping="yes" />

  <xsl:template match="/">
          <h3 class="heading">
              <xsl:value-of select="aspdnsf:GetMLValue(/root/EntityHelpers/*&#91;name()=/root/Runtime/EntityName&#93;/descendant::Entity&#91;EntityID=/root/Runtime/EntityID&#93;/Name)" disable-output-escaping="yes" />
          <xsl:value-of select="aspdnsf:EntityPageHeaderDescription($EntityName, $EntityID)" disable-output-escaping="yes" />
<xsl:value-of select="aspdnsf:EntityPageFilterOptions($EntityName, $EntityID, /root/Runtime/SecID, /root/Runtime/CatID, /root/Runtime/ManID, /root/Runtime/ProductTypeFilterID)" disable-output-escaping="yes" />

Manually resetting an admin user password in AspDotNetStorefront

1 – Connect to your database using SQL Server Management Studio, Enterprise Manager, or your web-based query tool.
2 – In a new query window, issue the follow SQL statement:

UPDATE [Customer]
SET [Password] = 'your new password here',
[SaltKey] = -1,
[LockedUntil] = DateAdd(mi, -1, GetDate()),
[BadLoginCount] = 0,
[PwdChangeRequired] = 0,
[PwdChanged] = GetDate()
WHERE [Email] = 'your admin email address here'

3 – Execute the query. It should return “(1 row(s) affected)
4 – In order for the password to be usable, it must be re-encrypted. Do this by forcing the site to restart, either through IIS or by “touching” the web.config file.

Example of JQuery UI Dialog With Dynamically Loading an URL with an IFRAME

The jQuery UI dialog is easy to get started with but has a few areas that causes new users some trouble. One of the most commonly asked questions on the jquery-ui list is “how to load iframe (other webpage) in dialog?” In this article I’ll explain how to load Dynamically URL with an IFRAME in Query UI Dialog.

First, we create link to page which we want to open into dialog.

<a id="pop" href="" title="Ashish Blog" >AshishBlog</a>

Now, we create dialog on link’s click event and get link href and title to diaplay in dialog.

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "">
<html xmlns="">
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
<title>jQuery UI Dialog Demo - Ashish's Blog</title>
<script type="text/javascript" src=""></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src=""></script>
    <link type="text/css" rel="Stylesheet" href="">
    <script type="text/javascript">
        $(document).ready(function () {
            $('a#pop').live('click', function (e) {
                var page = $(this).attr("href")
                var pagetitle = $(this).attr("title")
                var $dialog = $('<div></div>')
                .html('<iframe style="border: 0px; " src="' + page + '" width="100%" height="100%"></iframe>')
                    autoOpen: false,
                    modal: true,
                    height: 625,
                    width: 500,
                    title: pagetitle
     <a id="pop" href="" title="Ashish Blog">AshishBlog</a>

Textbox Watermark without jQuery

What is TextBoxWatermark?
When a TextBox is empty, it displays a message to the user. Once the user has typed some text into the TextBox, the watermarked appearance goes away. The typical purpose of a watermark is to provide more information to the user about the TextBox itself without cluttering up the rest of the page.

However, TextBoxWatermark can be done in CSS by using :focus pseudo-class but note that :focus is not supported by IE. And also done by using jQuery plugin.

Here is simple way to do TextBoxWatermark by using HTML Event handler attributes such as OnFocus and OnBlur.
